The new fall tv season has begun and so far I'm disappointed. The first show was the Mysteries of Laura. Now, the critics hated this show at the upfronts last spring, and all summer, the pilot made the rounds and continued to unimpress.  Finally it premieres after the season finale of NBC's variety show and I am not amused. There is nothing redeeming about this show. Her kids are spoiled rotten, she flouts protocol and the rules in her own job and she dresses like a slob. I am not impressed by this show due to its poor writing, character development and general sense of its lack of touch with Reality. I don't feel empowered watching this. In fact I think I deleted it with ten minutes left. Or not. Maybe I really wanted to. I definitely didn't add it to my watch list or maybe schedule.
I don't have terribly high standards for network tv, after all, I would watch NCIS on USA and Law and Order SVU whenever it plays, since Ice T has a certain presence and you expect them to wrap up the case with a moral or ethical lesson. However, MoL is shrill, inane and rudely aggressive for no reason. I'm from New York, but see no reason to shoot people in the ear even if they are a lot crazy.

Will return with my first impressions of Madame Secretary, which I thought was rather good.
